Russell Fletcher, 90, of Danville died at 1:45 p.m. thursday Aug 31, 1995 at USMC Logan Campus. He was born May 29, 1905 in Veedersburg ind, son of the late Clinton and Julia Kroug (sic - Krout or Lang - see above) Fletcher. On Dec 19, 1937, he married Lottie Mae Miller in Veedersburg. She died Aug 20, 1987. He was survive by 3 sisters-in-law and 16 nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of DePauw University with a degree in music and business. He traveled and performed with several bands, including the Mitch Miller Band from the 1930s through the 1960s. He was a route driver in Veedersburg for Phillips Laundry & Hicks Laundry and for Millikin Dry Cleaners. He retiredin 1979. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church where he sang with the choir for nearly 40 years. Funeral mass was 10:30 a.m. tuesday Sept 5 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Rev. Father Ted Pracz officiated. Burial was in Ressurrecetion cemetery. Visitation was 6-8 pm. Monday with Rosary recited at 730 pm. at Sunset Funeral Home.
